Congratulations, Wynetta McIntosh – Our 2018 Recipient of the Gainsberg Injury and Accident Lawyers Annual Scholarship Award!Gainsberg Injury and Accident Lawyers is proud to announce that Wynetta McIntosh is the 2018 winner of the Gainsberg Injury and Accident Lawyers Annual Scholarship Award! This extraordinary Chicago native will be attending law school this fall at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, having earned her B.A. in Sociology/English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May of 2018.

A woman committed to justice for all

Wynetta is absolutely going to change the world one day. This first-generation law student has worked her entire life to get to where she is. Her father passed away when she was young, forcing her mother to care for eight children on her own. Wynetta worked after-school and summer jobs since high school to get the funds together to attend college, relying on grants, loans and scholarships to supply the rest.

Congratulations, Wynetta McIntosh – Our 2018 Recipient of the Gainsberg Injury and Accident Lawyers Annual Scholarship Award! That same dedication to hard work landed her a job in the Office of Student Financial Aid – and the respect of her peers and her professors, as well. While at school, she took courses in Criminal Justice, Sociology and English, knowing that one day she would put them all to go use to become an attorney. She got involved with the Wisconsin Innocence Project and the Office of Equity and Diversity Advisory Board, and eventually interned with the Congressional Black Caucus in D.C. She was also a House Fellow at UWM, and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, a sorority whose motto is “Service to All Mankind.”

Now, Wynetta will embark on her greatest adventure yet – law school. In her application essay, she wrote:

I am committed to attaining equitable criminal and civil outcomes for all individuals and minorities who are most oppressed by this system. Specifically, I plan to focus on law enforcement reform, the rights of minorities in the workplace, and the rights of prisoners, especially those struggling with mental illness…. I am confident that receiving the Gainsberg Injury and Accident Lawyers Scholarship would enable me to fulfill my goal of reforming the criminal justice system, fostering a career in civil rights, and using my experiences to help those who need it most.

We’re confident in Wynetta’s prospects, too. That is why we are so thrilled to help her along her journey.

Congratulations once again, Wynetta. You certainly deserve this scholarship. We expect great things from you in the future.
